Eight of our S3 girls participated in the DGSMUN conference, held on October 19-20, 2024. This two-day event marked a significant step in their MUN journey. Leading up to the conference, they engaged in two training sessions via Zoom given by Utrecht University Model United Nations (UUMUN). These sessions covered the essentials of MUN, from drafting resolutions to mastering impromptu speeches.

To further prepare them for DGSMUN, we then held a mock conference chaired by two S6 girls who had prior experience in MUN conferences. In the mock conference, they practised their public speaking and negotiation skills in a supportive environment. This experience allowed them to get familiar with MUN procedures and receive valuable feedback from their seniors.

On both days of the conference, our girls gave public speeches, debated and wrote resolutions on issues of AI and neo-colonialism, showcasing their newfound confidence and collaboration skills. Their journey has not only enriched their MUN experience but also strengthened their friendships and teamwork.
